A very early and classic Shaker bracket base blanket chest.
Having a hinged lift lid with breadboard ends above a finely dovetailed box fitted with a unique stepped double till, all standing on an applied, finely dovetailed bracket base. Pine retaining an old or original deep red painted surface.
The Iron carrying handles are a common 19th Century Shaker addition.
