Shaker One Door Cupboard

This diminutive cupboard was never meant to hang.  It was designed and constructed to stand slightly above a surface (such as a table or counter), allowing the swinging door to pass above that surface.

Having a single panel door with a turned articulating knob activating a carved locking piece.

Pine retaining an original dry dark surface.  Original diamond shaped metal escutcheon.

Probably New Lebanon Bishopric, (Watervliet, New York).

Circa 1850.

27 1/4″, w. 21 1/4″, d. 10 3/4″.
