Shaker Three Tier Hanger

A wonderful example of Shaker functional design.

When horizontal, three shirts, vests, etc. could be easily hung and then when rotated to the horizontal (as on a pegrail), less space was required.

Made of pine and maple the rails are secured to the standard by means of symmetrically placed copper rivets.  In an original dry oxidized surface.

Probably New Lebanon, NY.
Circa 1850.
H. 14 3/16”, w 14”.
