A fine example of a New Lebanon Bishopric Oval Storage Box retaining its original, vibrant red stain with a subsequent over-varnish surface. With three, angular lappers on the base and one on the lid fixed with vertical lines of copper rivets and brads, the Box is of classic construction and in a very fine state of preservation. The interior lap is finished with a chamfer, demonstrating acute craftsmanship.
The box is initialed on the underside of the lid: “HW”
