A rare, two-finger Oval Box retaining its original and undisturbed yellow surface in an excellent state of preservation. At just over two and a half inches in height but ten and a half inches wide, this Box provides ample storage space while held easily in one hand. This shallow aspect combined with perfectly proportioned lappers that are dramatically offset to the right makes for an unusual and visually striking form.
On the bottom, the Box is signed and dated in red grease pencil: “Second Family, 1827”
